As a company founded in empowering its users to help them achieve their goals, it is incredibly important for users and founders to understand one another in order to provide the best possible experience and product available. Starting this week, we have invited the founders of Yencil.com, a digital document storefront service, to help us understand more about the company and themselves.
This week, we spoke with CTO Les Ragsdale regarding his experiences leading up to a tech startup, as well as some of his goals and visions with Yencil.
Can you share a bit about your experience and background in tech, and how this inspired you to pursue a role as CTO?
I’ve been working professionally in the field of Software Engineering since 2010. During this time I’ve also kept busy with numerous side projects that helped to expand my technical knowledge and quench my thirst to build. While my professional career may have started with consulting through government contracts, I now work on products that have a more direct impact on customers. This transition highlighted a desire that I have to build things that delight users. In the Co-Founder/CTO position I’ve been able to merge my passion for technology with my love for building products that add real value to its users.
Were there personal experiences/industry observations that fueled your passion for this particular niche that Yencil fulfills?
The adoption of the internet and the growth of the creator economy really highlight a trend that empowers more individuals to focus on their passions and seamlessly share the results with the world. Yencil aims to contribute to this trend by facilitating its users to get the most out of the productivity tools they’re already using. Modern web based productivity tools are more powerful than ever. Surely there should be a way for people to share and profit from their mastery of these tools.
Can you highlight any innovative approaches/technologies that set our platform apart?
Yencil aims to really lean into the productivity app niche to deliver a product that feels like the natural choice for people invested in the productivity space and looking to share their results with the world.
For any people considering entrepreneurship in tech, what advice would you give based off your own experiences?
Make sure you love it. It will require a level of investment that’s only maintainable if it’s something you love to do.
How do you see your tools positively impacting the professional lives of your users?
I’m hoping to empower our users to get the most out of the skills they’ve developed as knowledge professionals or subject matter experts in their area. In many cases, folks have invested so much time to master these productivity tools, it’s time that they get a return on this investment that isn’t limited to their 9 to 5.
In a rapidly evolving workplace environment, Yencil offers an opportunity to profit off of your unique knowledge and skillsets, both as a professional and as an enthusiast. For more information, visit Yencil.com to see how you can start your own digital document store today.
