How does Yencil empower knowledge professionals, and what benefits do you offer in terms of setting up shop and selling document templates online?

Given the shift of the common professional from in-office to remote work, now more than ever, people have more time to pour into the work and personal things that love to do. As a professional in the consulting space, I know a plethora of individuals with skillset that allow them to create documents/spreadsheets/diagrams that the masses could benefit from. We’d like to think Yencil can be that platform for not only professionals with full-time jobs, but also freelancers who enjoy creating things for others as well. With the launch of our Document Stores earlier this year, professionals have the ability to create, market and display all of these contributions on one site without having to learn how to build their own website.

 

How does Yencil stay innovative in the rapidly evolving landscape of online marketplaces and digital content creation?

We try to keep our ears to the ground when it comes to new emerging technology as well as what our competitors are doing. We’ve implemented AI functionality in our site so when users upload contributions, they can provide a brief description and allow AI to fill in the rest making the process as seamless as possible. We definitely monitor what some of our competitors are doing, looking for the few things we can do better or provide our customers with new features/capabilities that haven't been seen before.

 

What advice would you give to knowledge professionals looking to start selling their document templates online?

Jump in! You have no idea how helpful that random “inventory” or “financial” spreadsheet would be to others. Or maybe that travel itinerary for Bali. In your role as the CCO, how do you collaborate with other departments within the company to ensure a cohesive and effective content strategy?

It’s imperative to have a good grasp on all the technical and front facing features and changes that are made to ensure I’m able to assist customers when necessary. Whether is customer interactions, marketing, strategic planning, all areas need to be in sync to keep this machine rolling. We tend to slow down on content when we’re in the midst of some major changes or updates just to ensure we’re providing the most up-to-date information for our customers and followers.

 

In what ways does Yencil align with current trends in the knowledge-sharing and digital marketplace industries?

Since pivoting from a marketplace, we’ve enabled contribution creatives an avenue to selling documents they otherwise thought may not have been useful to others. We’ve also created a pricing strategy we feel is fair for both us as a business but also for our customers which is in-line with some of our competitors as well. We’ve provided our customers a creative way to market themselves and their contributions with the Document Store while giving them the opportunity to customize their store however they see fit to standout from the crowd.
